What is Invisalign®?
Invisalign® uses a series of invisible, removable, customizable clear plastic aligners that are worn over your teeth and move teeth gradually over time into the exact position your dentist has recommended. The Aligners are switched out about every two weeks and are worn for 20 hours a day. Because they are clear and virtually invisible, no one will know you are receiving treatment unless you tell them! Since your trays are custom made specifically for your teeth, using precise calculations and a plan designed by you and your dentist, you can be sure that the final result will be a smile that truly fits you!
How long will Invisalign® Treatment Take?
Invisalign® treatment varies by case, and you and your dentist will determine what is best for you. Generally, though, treatment time is between 9-15 months. Each set of aligners is worn for approximately two weeks, before changing them to the next set of aligners in the series. You will visit your dentist approximately every 4-6 weeks to check your progress and receive a new series of aligners. For optimal results, Invisalign® aligners should be worn for 20-22 hours each day for the entire duration of treatment, allowing up to 2 hours per day to remove them.
